Pakistan backs Bangladesh’s decision not to play T20 World Cup matches in India Breaking

January 22, 2026

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced full support for Bangladesh’s decision to refrain from playing its ICC T20 World Cup matches in India.  The PCB has formally conveyed its position to the International Cricket Council (ICC), with copies of the letter sent to all member boards.

Bangladesh has cited security concerns for its refusal to play T20 World Cup fixtures in India, a stance the PCB said was valid and warranted serious consideration. Pakistan has requested the ICC to hold Bangladesh’s matches in Pakistan and to review the existing participation arrangements for the World Cup. Pakistan’s backing of Bangladesh’s position is being viewed as a significant development in international cricket.
