The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the Modi-led Indian regime is executing a sinister plan to strip Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir of its Muslim identity and turn the territory into a settler colony. According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the BJP-RSS nexus has launched an aggressive demographic engineering campaign to change the Muslim-majority character of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“The illegal and unilateral decision of August 5, 2019, was a direct assault on the political, cultural, and religious identity of the Kashmiri people,” he said. Minhas pointed out that after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, which had barred non-locals from owning land or securing government jobs in IIOJK, the doors were thrown open for outsiders to settle in the occupied territory. “This is not mere policy reform—it is settler colonialism in action,” he added.
He said massive demographic shifts are being engineered through the allotment of land to non-locals, fast-tracking of domiciles, and systematic exclusion of Kashmiris from employment opportunities and administrative roles. “Kashmiris are being robbed of their land, resources, and rights in their own homeland,” he lamented. The APHC spokesman warned that India’s actions are in blatant violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and international law.
“By seeking to absorb Kashmir completely into the Indian Union, the BJP is pushing its Hindutva agenda of total assimilation, which is unacceptable to the people of Kashmir,” he asserted. Minhas called upon the United Nations and the international community to urgently intervene and halt India’s demographic aggression in the occupied territory. “The people of Kashmir remain defiant and steadfast.
Despite repression and systematic marginalization, they will resist India’s sinister plans to change the demographic structure of Jammu and Kashmir,” he maintained. He reiterated that lasting peace in South Asia is impossible without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
