Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at UAF, was honored with the Pak-China Friendship Award 2025 at a ceremony hosted here at the Governor House, by the Chinese Consul General.

The award recognizes Dr. Ali’s contributions to deepening educational, cultural, and research ties between Pakistan and China, particularly through initiatives that have strengthened academic cooperation, language exchange and people-to-people contact. “Today’s honour reflects not only his visionary leadership at UAF, but also the ironclad friendship between Pakistan and China,” said a UAF statement.

It noted the university’s expanded partnerships with Chinese institutions and the role of the Confucius Institute in promoting Chinese language and cultural understanding across Pakistan. Dr. Ali has overseen strategic cooperation with Chinese universities and research bodies that has led to joint research, student exchange opportunities, and technology sharing in agriculture, a sector vital to both nations’ shared development goals.

The Pak-China Friendship Award celebrates individuals whose work significantly advances bilateral understanding and cooperation, particularly in education and cultural exchange, central pillars of the long-standing relationship between the two countries.
