PowerChina has completed the erection of the first tower for the Lot-1 section of the Dasu 765kV Transmission Line Project, marking the start of full-scale construction on one of Pakistan’s key power infrastructure projects.

The transmission line is designed to evacuate electricity from the Dasu Hydropower Project, delivering clean hydropower to Islamabad and surrounding regions, according to a report carried by Gwadar Pro on Friday.

Once completed, it will form part of Pakistan’s largest high-voltage transmission network, aimed at strengthening the national grid and supporting future energy demand. According to the project team, construction has faced difficult terrain and natural conditions.

To address these challenges, the management model combines local workforce participation with technological support from Chinese experts, who provide real-time video supervision to ensure quality and safety standards.

Officials said the milestone sets a strong foundation for timely progress on the project, which is expected to play a significant role in Pakistan’s socio-economic development by reducing reliance on imported fuels and expanding renewable energy use.
