The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) on May 20 launched blacktopping work on the road linking Jannat Bazaar with Old Eidgah Road under the Old Town Rehabilitation Project, marking another step in the city’s ongoing infrastructure upgrade efforts.

Gwadar Pro quotin the GDA, stated that the road connecting Jannat Bazaar to the Old Eidgah area is considered an important route for residents of Gwadar’s old residential neighborhoods.

Authorities said blacktopping work on the road from Kitab Chowk to Marine Drive is also a major component of the rehabilitation project.

Construction, expansion, blacktopping, tuff tiling and paving work on roads and streets across different parts of the city are continuing at a rapid pace. Officials said the projects are aimed not only at improving infrastructure in old residential areas, but also at enhancing the city’s appearance and public facilities.

The Old Town Rehabilitation Project seeks to modernize Gwadar’s historic neighborhoods by introducing improved urban infrastructure and public amenities while preserving the city’s historical and cultural identity.

On the directives of Director General Moin ur Rehman Khan and under the supervision of Old Town Rehabilitation Project Director Mir Doda Khan Marri, work on multiple roads, streets and neighborhoods across the city is progressing quickly, according to the authority.
