The district administration has intensified price control and hygiene enforcement measures during the holy month of Ramazan and inspected 4,135 shops across the district in the first ten days.  According to official figures, 186 shops were sealed and 156 individuals arrested over violations of government-notified price lists and hygiene regulations.

Authorities also imposed fines totaling Rs 2,433,500 during the first Ashra.  The crackdown is being carried out under the provincial government’s Good Governance Roadmap, with price control magistrates actively monitoring markets to ensure compliance with official rate lists.

Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram said profiteering, hoarding, and poor sanitation arrangements would not be tolerated and that indiscriminate action would continue throughout Ramazan. Citizens have been urged to report overpricing or other violations to the District Control Room at 0992-9310553 or via WhatsApp at 0335-5851233 for prompt action.
