Security forces killed seven terrorists belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) also referred to as Fitna al Hindustan in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Balochistan, the military's media wing said on Tuesday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation took place in the Mach area of Kachhi district, where troops acted on actionable intelligence regarding the presence of armed militants. During an intense exchange of fire, five suspected BLA operatives were killed.
In a second operation in the Margand area of Kalat district, security forces raided what they described as a militant hideout. Two more suspected BLA members were killed in the ensuing firefight. According to the ISPR, weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the sites. The statement alleged that the individuals killed were linked to India-sponsored terrorism and had been involved in multiple attacks targeting security personnel and infrastructure in the province.
“Security forces remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and reaffirm the nation's resolve to bring the perpetrators and their facilitators to justice,” the statement read. The operations are part of a broader counterterrorism effort in the restive province, where insurgent groups continue to launch sporadic attacks against state institutions.
