Irked over the failure of Aleema Khan, sister of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, to show up, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday issued arrest warrants for her in the November 26 protest case for the seventh time. Judge Amjad Ali Shah heard the case. The court has already issued her arrest warrants in the case six times. Aleema and 10 others were nominated in the case registered at Sadiqabad police station of Rawalpindi.

On October 29, the ATC had ordered the blocking of the passport and national identity card of Aleema over the latter’s repeated failure to appear in court. The order was issued in connection with the November 26 protest case, with the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) confirming compliance through a submitted report. ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah had earlier instructed authorities to take the step after Aleema ignored multiple court summons.
