Central govt making false claims about economic progress: Salmanتازترین

October 28, 2025

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has accused the federal government of making false claims about economic progress, asserting that Prime Minister’s foreign visits have yielded no benefits for the public. Speaking to a private TV channel program, he stated that country’s economy is stagnating, with 29 percent of the youth population unemployed and last year recording the lowest investment in Pakistan.  “All the government’s claims have turned out to be false.

No country develops when a gap is established between the people and institutions,” he stated, adding that “the truth will be victorious.” Raja emphasized PTI’s historical role in upholding the constitution, law, and truth, noting a shift in public discourse. “Where there was silence six months ago, there is no silence today,” he said. On political unity, Raja highlighted an opportunity to rally behind Sohail Afridi to implement provincial reforms and prevent chaos.

“There are many reforms that should be done in the province; things should be taken towards improvement. There is no reason for chaos to increase in the country,” he urged. Raja condemned restrictions on meeting imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan as “contempt of court,” revealing that petitions have been  filed previously and will be submitted again.Criticizing Chief Justice Yahya Afridi’s one-year tenure, Raja said Pakistan is now the only country where the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench allows civilians to be tried in military courts.

“Earlier, Uganda was a country where this was allowed, but the Supreme Court there also abolished it,” he noted. He further lambasted the rejection of an 8-judge decision on PTI’s reserved seats, calling it the first instance where a just verdict was overturned in review, with seats distributed to other parties. “This paved the way for the 27th Amendment,” Raja said.
