Four killed, 16 injured as strong winds and heavy rain batter Bannuتازترین

Four people were killed and 16 others injured in Bannu due to strong winds and heavy rainfall, according to a preliminary report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA). The report stated that incidents of collapsing walls, houses, and shops were reported at various locations across Bannu district as a result of the severe weather conditions. 

According to initial reports, the deceased include two men and two children. Among the 16 injured are four men, five women, and seven children. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for immediate medical treatment. The PDMA Emergency Operations Center said that the district administration and relevant agencies are actively engaged in relief operations in the affected areas, while a detailed assessment of the damage is ongoing. 

The PDMA has urged the public to take precautionary measures during adverse weather conditions, avoid weak and dilapidated structures, and contact the local administration in case of any emergency. A PDMA spokesperson said that the authority remains in constant contact with all relevant agencies and is closely monitoring the situation. The Emergency Operations Center is fully operational, and citizens are advised to report any untoward incident by calling the PDMA helpline at 1700.
