Interior Minister, US envoy take up regional peace, anti-terror cooperationتازترین

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, ongoing Pakistan-US relations, and possibilities of enhancing cooperation across various sectors. The discussion included the regional security landscape and a detailed exchange over Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir’s meeting with US President Donald Trump. 

Both officials also discussed ways to strengthen collaboration in counter-terrorism and anti-narcotics operations. Mohsin Naqvi commended President Trump’s exceptional leadership and sincere efforts in achieving the Iran-Israel ceasefire, calling it a “memorable and commendable step” in the pursuit of global peace.The interior minister further expressed hope that President Donald Trump would also take significant steps to mediate a ceasefire in Gaza. 

Highlighting Pakistan’s long-standing diplomatic posture, Naqvi reiterated that Pakistan has always advocated for resolving disputes, including Kashmir, through dialogue and welcomed every effort made in the name of peace.On her part, US Acting Ambassador Natalie Baker appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic role in promoting regional peace, describing Pakistan as an important and valued partner of the United States. She emphasised Washington’s continued commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and praised Pakistan’s constructive efforts in diplomacy.
