Maryam Nawaz orders operation to rehabilitate flood affectees in Punjabتازترین

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam has ordered launching of an operation for the rehabilitation of people devastated by the recent floods across the province.Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Friday, the chief minister also decided to pay compensation to the affectees for the losses caused by the unprecedented floods.

In this regard, flood relief committees have been established at district and tehsil levels with Maryam Nawaz instructing all cocerned to devise an easiest way to help flood victims. Survey form, mobile app and monitoring dashboard were also established for flood victims, the meeting was told.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will herself monitor the assistance to flood victims on the dashboard. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also ordered immediate restoration of roads, bridges and infrastructure in flood-affected areas and also in Lahore.According to a Revenue Department report, 3,775 places in 27 districts and 64 tehsils of Punjab were affected by the flood. 

As many as 63,200 cemented and 309,684 mud houses were affected by the flood, the Revenue Report revealed.Representatives of Urban Unit, Revenue, Agriculture and Army included in the team for conducting the survey of flood victims.  Maryam Nawaz said the government is committed to provide full assistance to the flood victims and the government should reach the flood victims itself.

More camps and points should be established to distribute aid to the flood victims, Maryam Nawaz instructed the concerned officials, maintaining “We should help the flood victims with open hearts.”  “We will compensate the loss of every individual, no one should be deprived of relief,” Maryam Nawaz said, directing the authorities to proactively reach affected communities.
