May 13, 2026

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said the Pahalgam incident was a “false flag operation,” alleging that India avoided an impartial investigation, while Pakistan continues to play the role of a frontline state in the global fight against terrorism.

Addressing a seminar on “Marka-e-Haq” at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan has rendered unmatched sacrifices as a frontline state against terrorism, while India has been attempting to mislead the international community by blaming Pakistan for its own internal failures and security issues.

He stated that during “Marka-e-Haq,” the Pakistani nation, armed forces and state institutions demonstrated complete unity. According to him, terrorism in India is its internal matter, but New Delhi has repeatedly tried to externalize its crises and failures by leveling allegations against Pakistan.

He said India imposed unprovoked aggression on Pakistan, but Pakistan responded with responsibility, wisdom and national unity.Referring to the Pahalgam incident, the federal minister said Pakistan was immediately blamed without any investigation, despite the Pakistani prime minister offering cooperation for a transparent inquiry.

He claimed India avoided any neutral investigation because the Pahalgam incident was actually a “false flag operation.” He added that Pahalgam is located far from the border in an area under strong Indian military control, yet allegations were directed at Pakistan. According to him, the incident caused damage to India’s credibility at the international level.

Attaullah Tarar said complete coordination among state institutions is Pakistan’s greatest strength, adding that the country’s civil and military leadership is on the same page. He praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in dealing with challenges.
