October 28, 2025

The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced an immediate ban on vehicles without green stickers effective after November 15. The move comes as part of the government’s intensified campaign to combat rising air pollution in the provincial capital. According to Environment DG Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh, exhaust testing has been made mandatory for all vehicles in Lahore. Vehicles found on the road without an ETS certificate or a green sticker after November 15 will be seized on the spot, he warned.

Dr Hamid stated that only those vehicles meeting Punjab’s environmental standards will be allowed to operate on roads. The EPA has launched strict enforcement measures against polluting vehicles, implementing a zero-tolerance policy for non-compliance. Vehicles not certified under the Exhaust Testing System (ETS) will face legal action and confiscation.

The EPA’s campaign, described as the toughest anti-pollution drive yet, aims to ensure cleaner air and safer urban mobility in Lahore. The Environment DG urged citizens to immediately complete exhaust and noise testing for their vehicles. “After November 15, vehicles without certification will be confiscated,” he emphasized, adding that the agency’s crackdown will continue with no exemptions.
