Punjab decides to restore 8th grade board exams تازترین

Punjab government has decided to restore eighth grade board examinations across the province. In this regard, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said that Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (Pecta) will conduct grade 8 exams and action plan should be made in the next 30 days.  The Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat chaired a meeting of Pecta Board of Governors in this connection.

Many important issues related to educational reforms were considered in the meeting. Education Minister directed to make internal examination system from fifth to seventh grade effective.Education Minister further directed that fifth, sixth and seventh class exams should be conducted as assessment tests.  Education Minister said that internal assessment test procedure should be formulated within a month.

Assessment tests will be used to assess the performance of teachers and students, Education Minister said. "I am restoring the board exams for eighth class," Rana Sikandar Hayat said.He said a transparent system should be implemented for assessment tests from fifth to seventh.  The Minister said we are considering converting 9th and 11th grade books of Matric Tech into video format as well. He directed that trainers for the training of Matriculation Tech teachers should be selected keeping in mind the previous performance and results.  Minister of Education further directed that work should be started now for the timely printing and delivery of books next year. Delays in printing and delivery of books from next year will be intolerable, Minister of Education warned. Various suggestions were also exchanged in the meeting to reduce the dropout ratio in middle.
