The Rescue 1122, Murree, has issued a high alert in view of worsening weather conditions, with heavy rain, strong winds, storms and possible hailstorms forecast in the coming days. According to the Rescue 1122 spokesman, all personnel have been directed to remain on alert, with emergency resources mobilised to ensure an immediate, effective and professional response to any untoward incident.
He said teams had been deployed in the field with full preparedness, while the control room was operating round the clock and continuously monitoring the situation. Ambulances, motorbike rescue units and other essential resources have been kept ready to respond promptly to any emergency call.
He warned that adverse weather could trigger hazards including riverine flooding, landslides, lightning strikes and hailstorms, adding that precautionary measures were already in place to mitigate risks.
The service has urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather, stay away from rainwater drains and fast-flowing water, and remain in safe locations. Citizens have also been advised to contact the emergency helpline 1122 immediately in case of any incident.
