A Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) team killed a suspected robber in an alleged encounter on Bosan Road near Pul Kadal. Officials said on Thursday that the suspect was spotted on Bosan Road and signalled to stop, but he allegedly opened fire on the police party. The police took cover behind their vehicle and retaliated. After the exchange of fire, the suspect was found dead, reportedly hit by the firing of his own accomplices.

The body was shifted to Nishtar Hospital Multan. The accused, identified as Amjad alias Amji, was involved in multiple cases of burglary, theft and other street crimes,said officials. Officials added that a search operation had been launched to arrest the fleeing accomplices and reiterated their resolve to curb criminal activities. They said the deceased was wanted in several cases registered in Multan as well as in Khanewal, Vehari and Muzaffargarh districts.
