Six dacoits were killed in three police encounters in different areas of Lahore on Monday.These police encounters took place in Chung, Misri Shah, and Shahdara areas of the provincial capital. In the first encounter in Chung, a team of Crime Control Department (CCD) raided a house after receiving information that some dacoits were committing robbery.After taking notice of the CCD team, the dacoits opened fire on the CCD personnel and during heavy exchange of firing, three dacoits were killed while their three accomplices escaped from the scene.

The dead dacoits were identified as Yaseen, Sarfraz and Ali Raza. A search operation was already under way to apprehend the culprits.In the second encounter in Misri Shah, two dacoits lost their lives during a heavy exchange of fire with the Crime Control Department tea. The CCD officials said that the team was taking the accused for recovery when their companions started firing on the police team.The dead dacoits were involved in various robbery and snatching cases.

The third police encounter occurred in Shahdara Town of Lahore where an accused Mujtiar was dead when some of his colleagues who were riding a motorcycle opened fire on the police party.During the cross-firing, accused Mujtiar Orh received bullet wounds and died on the spot. The CCD team cordoned off the area to arrest the accused Mujtiar Orh, who was wanted by the police in different criminal cases, which include dacoity, house robbery, rape, and murder.
