Head Qadirabad remains in high floodBreaking

Head Qadirabad on the Chenab River continued to experience high flood on Friday,while water flow at Head Marala and Head Khanki remained at the medium flood level,according to official figures. Officials said that Head Qadirabad recorded an upstream inflow of 234,271 cusecs and a downstream outflow of 219,271 cusecs.

At Head Marala,the upstream inflow stood at 189,126 cusecs while the downstream discharge was recorded at 175,426 cusecs. Head Khanki received an upstream inflow of 203,374 cusecs and released 198,444 cusecs downstream with both barrages remaining at medium flood level.

Meanwhile,Mangla Dam on the Jhelum River remained within the normal operating range. The reservoir level was recorded at 1,185.70 feet with an inflow of 60,001 cusecs and an outflow of 10,000 cusecs. The flow in Bhimbar Nullah also remained normal at 1,874 cusecs while Munawar Tavi recorded a discharge of 7,547 cusecs. The latest readings come as authorities continue to monitor river flows amid the ongoing monsoon spell.
