Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has promoted Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Aamir Raza to the rank of four-star general and appointed him as Commander of the National Strategic Command. A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said that the promotion and appointment were approved as part of the government’s decision regarding the senior military leadership.
General Amir Raza, who has been awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat for his distinguished service, will now serve as Commander of the National Strategic Command after being elevated to the rank of full general. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated General Amir Raza on his promotion and new assignment, expressing confidence in his leadership and wishing him success in fulfilling his responsibilities in the new role.
