Over 989,000 children under five years of age will be administered polio drops across Rawalpindi district during a four-day special anti-polio drive scheduled to run from August 10 to 13. To achieve complete coverage, health authorities have deployed a field force comprising 4,215 mobile teams, 232 fixed centers, and 176 transit teams stationed at entry points, bus terminals, and high-risk zones.
The district administration finalized the comprehensive operational plan during a review meeting with Deputy Commissioner, Cap. (R), Nadeem Nasir, here on Friday, emphasizing zero tolerance for negligence and strict accountability for non-performance during the drive. Parents have been urged to ensure all children under five receive anti-polio drops from visiting mobile teams to safeguard them against paralysis.
