The government plans to strengthen the horticulture sector through dedicated events and initiatives under FoodAg 2027, with a particular focus on collaboration with the governments of Balochistan and Punjab, according to an official document available with Wealth Pakistan.
Under the planned collaboration, dedicated events and initiatives will be organised for FoodAg 2027, focusing on promoting and developing horticulture and strengthening linkages between provincial stakeholders and the country’s export promotion efforts.
The government is also expanding trade facilitation services to support businesses and exporters across the country.
According to the document, help desks have been established at 12 major chambers of commerce across Pakistan to provide trade facilitation and export promotion services.
A dedicated Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) office and help desk has also been established at the Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Hub.
The government’s wider trade facilitation agenda includes digitalisation measures such as online issuance of Certificates of Origin (COO), completion of Phase-I of the TDAP Trade Portal, and development of the Preferential Trade Access Database (PTAD).
Other initiatives include the GLOBE Summit for e-commerce and PIXS for IT startup promotion, reflecting efforts to expand Pakistan’s participation in digital and technology-driven trade.
The document further states that MoUs with EXIM Bank and Pakistan Single Window (PSW) are being pursued for capacity building of exporters.
The planned FoodAg 2027 collaboration with Balochistan and Punjab is expected to provide a dedicated platform for promoting the horticulture sector, while broader trade facilitation measures are intended to improve exporters’ access to services, information, and international market opportunities.
The initiative comes as the government seeks to develop provincial export potential and integrate sectors such as horticulture more closely with Pakistan’s broader trade and export promotion strategy.
