Sui development package nears completion as six of eight schemes finish

The federal government is entering the final phase of the PSDP-funded Sui Special Development Package, having completed six of its eight schemes, while work continues on two road projects. Official documents available with Wealth Pakistan reveal that Rs256.757 million has been proposed for the initiative in the 2026-27 financial year.

The documents show that the package has a total approved cost of Rs4.698 billion, of which Rs3.852 billion has been released or spent as of June 30, 2026.

According to the documents, three electrification schemes were completed at Rs1.830 billion, while cumulative releases and expenditure reached Rs1.625 billion.

The road sector consists of five schemes with a combined cost of Rs2.868 billion. Of these, three schemes have been completed, accounting for Rs1.229 billion in project cost and Rs1.151 billion in releases and expenditure.

The remaining two road schemes are currently under implementation, carrying a combined cost of Rs1.639 billion. The documents show that Rs1.082 billion had been released or spent on these projects by June 30, 2026, while Rs256.757 million has been allocated for FY27.

The project details indicate that the three completed electrification schemes include a 132KV grid station in Sui and a 132KV transmission line from Kashmore to Sui, a 132KV grid station in Dera Bugti and a 132KV Sui-Dera Bugti transmission line, and the electrification of villages in Dera Bugti.

Similarly, the completed road projects include the blacktopping of roads from Doli checkpost to Sighari Road, and from Dera Bugti to Pirkoh, Habib Rahi Vedara and Killi Murad, the improvement of the Sui-Dera Bugti Road, and the construction of a blacktopped link road.

According to the documents, the two ongoing projects are the construction of a blacktopped road from Lehri to Sangsila Road (Phase-I), with a project cost of Rs841 million, releases/expenditure of Rs535 million, and an allocation of Rs156 million for FY27, and the construction of a blacktopped road from Sui to Uch Field (57km), with a project cost of Rs797.710 million, releases/expenditure of Rs546.953 million, and an allocation of Rs100.757 million for FY27.
