Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj ul Haq has demanded of the government to set minimum wage in budget at 40,000 rupees per month. Addressing the pre-budget seminar of JI on Thursday, he said that budget brings facilities and hope in entire world but in Pakistan it was symbol of fright, tension and disappointment. Sirajul Haq said that the government instead of handling a people with Rs18,000 monthly income and others having millions under the same rule should impose tax on income.
He demanded for facilitating the small farmers and taxing the landlords. The directions of the interest free micro-financing and bank loans for youth must be turned to small and medium industry, he added. The JI chief said that finance minister must fulfill the pledges of providing interest free loans. The government following the Constitution must return original amount of the foreign loans instead of paying interest on it, he maintained. Siraj said that as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance minister, he present six budgets and made the province interest free. On experience basic can say that there is no scarcity of resources in the country and it will progress quickly if the governance was improved, he concluded.
