A Chinese delegation has helped advance disaster preparedness efforts at Karakoram International University’s (KIU) Ghizer Campus, marking a positive step in international academic and technical cooperation.

The delegation, led by Professor Mao Wenfei, Associate Professor at Central South University in Hunan, China, and accompanied by Dr. Karamat Ali, Assistant Professor at KIU, visited the campus to support the installation of a modern Disaster Response System. 

It will be aimed at improving emergency readiness in the region, according to a Gwadar Pro's report.

The initiative is designed to strengthen early warning mechanisms, enhance emergency coordination, and improve community safety measures in response to both natural and human-induced disasters.
