To promote business opportunities for women in Gwadar, an introductory meeting regarding the establishment of a Women’s Bazaar was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office under the supervision of the district administration, Gwadar Pro reported.

The meeting was organized in light of the growing interest of women following the recent successful Meena Bazaar. Representatives from the Women Development Department Balochistan and other relevant institutions attended the meeting.

The primary objective of the meeting was to provide a safe and dignified business platform for women so that local women can transform their skills into economic activities. A special introductory session was also attended by women who had submitted online applications to participate in the Women’s Bazaar.

Participants presented their business ideas across various sectors including food items, tailoring and embroidery, cosmetics, beauty parlors, books, homemade products, mobile accessories, Balochi cultural dresses, carpets, jewelry, and more. One participant also proposed establishing a driving training center for women, which was appreciated.

Addressing the meeting, Rubina Karim Shahwani, Manager of Women Business Center & Women Bazaar Khuzdar, said that the level of interest among women in Gwadar is encouraging, and expressed hope that the Women’s Bazaar will soon become a reality. Rubina Zehri, Manager of Women Crisis Center & Shelter Home Quetta, stated that this initiative is an important step toward women’s economic empowerment and its success depends on active participation by women.

Participants emphasized that priority in shop allotment should be given to local women. It was also agreed that if space becomes limited, additional shops could be established through cabins. A proposal to formally name the project as a “Women Business Complex” is also under consideration.
