The University of Gwadar has secured the top position among universities in Balochistan in the Higher Education Commission (HEC)’s National Skill Competency Test (NSCT), demonstrating strong academic performance in computer science and information technology education.
According to the test results, the University of Gwadar achieved an average score of 50.55, ranking first among 11 participating universities from Balochistan and 34th among 187 universities nationwide.
Gwadar Pro quoting the HEC’s statement stated, the University Wise official results of the National Skills Competency Test (NSCT) 2026 for IT graduates was conducted across 165 centres in 112 cities, the test assessed 33,000+ students from the 7th and 8th semesters of computing programs to benchmark skills against industry requirements.
To promote transparency and recognize excellence, the HEC published detailed university-wise performance data along with the list of top-performing students nationwide.
The display of results will help institutions identify strengths and improvement areas while celebrating outstanding student achievements in Pakistan’s IT talent pool.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed congratulated the participating students, faculty members, the Department of Computer Science and IT, and the university administration on the achievement.
They said the result reflects the university’s commitment to quality education, the dedication of its faculty and the hard work of its students.
“The University of Gwadar remains committed to providing high-quality education in modern sciences and technology-related fields, and this achievement is a manifestation of that commitment,” the university leadership said in a statement.
The vice chancellor expressed confidence that the university would continue to achieve recognition at the national level and contribute to the promotion of higher education in Balochistan.
