New China-Pakistan business center opens in Beijing to boost trade tiesBreaking

September 11, 2026

A new China-Pakistan business platform has been launched in Beijing, offering companies from the two countries a new channel to explore trade, investment and broader economic cooperation.

The China-Pakistan Business Center was unveiled on Sept. 8 during the 99 Global Business Linkage Festival 2026 and Fengtai District Opening-up Development Conference in Beijing.

The center, located in Beijing's Lize Financial Business District, is expected to serve as a cross-border business window connecting Pakistani enterprises with Chinese markets and business resources, Gwadar Pro reported on Friday.

The launch comes as Beijing's Fengtai District seeks to expand services for companies entering emerging markets, particularly countries of the Global South.

The district has established an overseas expansion service center integrating resources in finance, legal services, logistics, data and other areas to help businesses navigate market access and cross-border operations.

For Pakistani businesses, the new center could provide a more direct channel to connect with Chinese companies, distributors and service providers, while helping Chinese enterprises better explore opportunities in Pakistan and the wider South Asian market.

The China-Pakistan initiative was accompanied by another distinctive form of bilateral engagement at the event.

Supported by the Embassy of Pakistan in China and the Pakistan Women's Association Beijing (PWAB), a China-Pakistan thalassemia charity initiative was introduced at the opening ceremony, with a dedicated Pakistani public welfare booth set up at the event.

The booth brought together Pakistani exhibitors showcasing locally distinctive products, including handmade leather jackets, footwear, wooden handicrafts, carpets and scarves, jewelry, brassware and porcelain tea sets.

According to the organizers, participating Pakistani enterprises have committed to donating proceeds generated through booth operations in accordance with formal agreements with the Pakistan Thalassemia Welfare Association.

The funds will be directed toward medical assistance for thalassemia patients, medical equipment procurement and healthcare personnel training in Pakistan.

The combination of business activities and charitable engagement added a people-to-people dimension to the event, allowing Pakistani products to serve not only as commercial goods but also as a vehicle for public welfare and cultural exchange.

The initiative comes against the backdrop of growing China-Pakistan economic ties, with cooperation increasingly extending beyond traditional merchandise trade into logistics, services, technology and industrial collaboration.
