July 16, 2025

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and China’s Nankai University (NKU) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance collaboration in education, research, and innovation.

The agreement was formalized during a visit by NUST Rector Muhammad Zahid Latif to NKU where he signed the MoU alongside NKU President Prof. Chen Yulu.

According to a statement released by NUST on Tuesday, the partnership outlines a framework for student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research projects, joint internships, and the establishment of co-developed innovation platforms.

Both institutions reiterated their commitment to cultivating a dynamic, cross-border academic alliance, grounded in mutual objectives and sustained knowledge-sharing.

Founded in 1919, Nankai University holds a prestigious place in China’s academic landscape and is often referred to as the “North Star” of Chinese higher education for its scholarly excellence.

Earlier this week, the University of Sargodha (UoS) also signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with NKU to cooperate in research, faculty mobility, and digital learning initiatives, Gwadar Pro reported on Wednesday.
