The OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (OIC-COMSTECH), in collaboration with UNI International and leading Chinese technical institutions, launched a series of online digital courses aimed at strengthening skills development, digital literacy, and human capital across OIC Member States.
The newly introduced courses focus on high-demand and future-oriented fields, including artificial intelligence, data science, digital entrepreneurship, renewable energy, and public health, according to a Gwadar Pro's report. The initiative seeks to enhance employability, bridge skills gaps, and support sustainable socio-economic development in participating countries.
The virtual launch ceremony was attended by senior academic leaders and industry representatives from China and various OIC countries, reflecting strong international cooperation in the field of digital education. Speaking at the event, OIC-COMSTECH Coordinator General Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary highlighted the critical role of digital education in addressing contemporary socio-economic challenges.
He emphasized that cross-border online learning platforms can significantly expand access to quality education, particularly for youth in developing countries. Prof. Choudhary revealed that 530 students from 15 countries have enrolled in the first phase of the program, demonstrating robust international interest and confidence in the initiative.
UNI International and ITMC Technology Co. Ltd. were also acknowledged for their key contributions to the program, including coordination, curriculum development, and provision of digital infrastructure to ensure effective delivery of the courses.
