Thar Coal Block-1 PG Company helped 1,000 poor families during RamadanBreaking

THAR, Apr. 16 (INP): The Thar Block-1 Integrated Energy Project provided food supplies to 1,000 households of local villagers in the Thar region during the holy month of Ramadan. As per the Project's officials, Thar Coal Block-1 (TCB-1) and Sino Sindh Resources Private Limited (SSRL), subsidiaries of Shanghai Electric, have been actively helping local villagers in Thar during the holy month of Ramzan. The food packages provided to the villagers comprised all basic necessities including rice, flour, cooking oil, sugar, tea and were handed over to the villagers by senior company officials. The supplies were distributed among the local population belonging to the following villages: Wervai, Tilwayo, Kharyo Ghulam Shah, Shahmir Vikyo, Jam Ki Wandh and Bhave Jo Thar.

As per the statement, the Thar Block-1 Integrated Energy Project has provided more than 20,000 direct employment opportunities for the locals, with a cumulative tax payment of $150 million and CSR expenditure of over $1.5 million. In the future, Thar Project will continue to adhere to the principle of “co-consultation, co-construction, and sharing” and work closely with the local government and residents to jointly promote the construction and development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It will write a new chapter for the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, Gwadar Pro reported.
