Two joint three-year diploma programs were launched at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Community College to enhance Sino-Pak cooperation in modern agriculture, grain storage, and quality safety.
The diplomas, one in Grain Storage and Transportation and Quality Safety, and the other in Modern Agricultural Technology (MAT), aim to improve agricultural education and strengthen bilateral ties, Gwadar Pro reported on Thursday.
The programs are offered in partnership with leading Chinese vocational institutions, marking a new phase of cross-border academic exchange.
UAF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali described the programs as market-driven, equipping students with skills for agricultural development.
He noted that UAF’s Confucius Institute had played a key role in enhancing people-to-people ties through Chinese language training.
Wang Jia, Assistant Dean at Jiangxi Vocational Technical College, called the initiative a step toward mutual learning. Zhang Jianhong, Vice President of Bailie Vocational College, said the MAT program would provide practical skills for sustainable agricultural development.
Under the joint diplomas, students will spend two years at UAF and one year in China, gaining valuable international experience.
The launch also included an orientation for the fourth batch of the MAT program, which began three years ago in collaboration with Bailie Vocational College and Tang International Education Group.
