Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem has said that law and order in the district is gradually improving, while police operations against criminals and dacoits are continuing across the district. Speaking about the overall security situation, SSP Muhammad Kaleem said that police had conducted 142 encounters during the past eight months, in which 34 criminals were killed, while several others were arrested.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that more than 15 dacoits had been killed in the Khanpur subdivision, adding that peace and security had been restored in all areas of the district. He said that incidents of killings linked to tribal disputes had declined by 33 percent, reflecting an improvement in the law-and-order situation. “The dacoits will be brought to justice, sent to jail and made to face their sentences,” he said.
SSP Muhammad Kaleem further said that Shikarpur Police were taking strict and indiscriminate action against drug dealers and narcotics peddlers as part of the ongoing campaign against drugs. He added that the campaign had produced encouraging results. He reaffirmed that police would continue operations against criminal elements and take every possible measure to maintain peace and protect the lives and property of citizens across Shikarpur district.
