The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the interim bail of several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in different cases related to the May 9 riots and arson until October 6. The court extended the interim bail of Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Azam Swati, Musarrat Cheema and others in various May 9 arson cases. Two ATC judges heard the cases related to the May 9 incidents.

During the proceedings, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Azam Swati, Musarrat Cheema and other accused appeared before the court. PTI founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, also appeared in court. The court directed the lawyers to present their final arguments at the next hearing and ordered that the records of the cases also be presented.

The accused face cases related to the May 9 incidents, including the burning of Jinnah House, Askari Tower and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) office, along with other incidents of arson and vandalism reported during the unrest.
