China has offered a fully funded academic research programme for Pakistani veterinary students in Xinjiang Agricultural University (XJAU), the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) announced, according to Gwadar Pro. The 15-day programme, scheduled for Nov. 10–24, 2025, will host master’s and PhD students from UAF and other partner universities of the Confucius Institute. Participants will receive full sponsorship covering accommodation, meals, tuition and local transport.
Authors of outstanding academic papers will also be awarded round-trip air tickets. The initiative includes hands-on training, lab sessions, field visits and academic exchanges with students from Uzbekistan and China, underscoring Beijing’s push to deepen educational and cultural cooperation with Pakistan. Eligible students must be enrolled in veterinary sciences at the master’s or PhD level and affiliated UAF or another Confucius Institute partner institution.
They are also expected to present research papers at the 11th XJAU Postgraduate International Academic Forum. UAF said the programme will enhance academic collaboration under Sino-Pak relations while giving Pakistani students international exposure and advanced research opportunities. Founded in 1962, UAF’s Faculty of Veterinary Science has produced thousands of graduates and contributed to vaccines, diagnostic tools and livestock health innovations.
It also runs hospitals and outreach clinics that support farmers nationwide.
