The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday imposed a complete ban on the arrest of suspects from the court premises. In this connection, the registrar of the LHC wrote a letter to the Punjab IGP in which he told him to order police not to arrest any individual from the court premises, even if his or her bail had been cancelled.

“The directives issued in 2014, 2016 and 2021 should be implemented in letter and spirit,” wrote the registrar.  The registrar asked the IGP to convey the court orders to all police officers and personnel and to make sure that the court orders were followed.  The registrar also asked the IGP to submit a preliminary report on the implementation of the court orders.
