Two persons including an old man and a minor girl died and two other children got hurt after some stray mad dogs bit them in the SITE area of Hyderabad. Police said that an old man, named Abdullah, died while trying to rescue children from the attack of stray dogs in the street. A little girl also killed when bitten by a horde of dogs, while two other children got hurt.

The injured kids were shifted to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment. Reportedly, there is a shortage of anti-rabies injections in hospitals across the country. Last December, the Sindh Assembly was told that the population of stray dogs had increased alarmingly across the province and there was an urgent need to take action to contain the rising dog-bite cases. Then health minister said that over 200,000 dog-bite cases had been reported in the province during the first 10 months of 2022.
