June 28, 2025

The Pakistani passport has now made it to the 100 top passports in the world, as per the ranking issued by the Henley Passport Index for the year 2025. DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi has felicitated the nation on the improvement in the national passport’s ranking, and has thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the secretary interior for their cooperation, which made it possible.

The DG has said that some new security features have been introduced in the Pakistani passports.  He has informed that soon e-gates will be installed at all airports to facilitate e-passport holders.  He has further said that Pakistanis will now also be able to travel to 32 countries on their passports without visas. Qazi has added that those coming to seek passports are being issued passports on time.

“The passport backlog is nil in the entire world, including Pakistan,” he has said, adding that online passport services are also being provided to overseas Pakistanis.  “Now, fees can be paid in seconds courtesy Asaan Fees App,” he has said, adding, “Soon people will be able to get their passports at their homes through the Passport App.”
