Due to the current monsoon spell and flood situation, the district administrations of Rahim Yar Khan, Chaghi, and Rawalpindi decided to impose a rain emergency in these areas. Deputy Commissioner Rahim Yar Khan Khurram Pervez issued a notification in this regard. Section 144 imposed the emergency in the revenue limits of the district of Rahim Yar Khan. The district administration issued a high alert for the district administration of Chaghi. A ban has already been imposed on using picnic points, drains, and nullahs.
Deputy Commissioner Chaghi advised citizens to adopt precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary movements. The Deputy Commissioner said that control rooms in Dalbandin and the Taftan Levies line are already operational around the clock. The Pakistan Disaster and Management Authority (PDMA), the Department of Health, and other relevant departments were also alerted. The Deputy Commissioner further advised citizens to avoid listening to fake news.
A meeting of the District Intelligence Committee expressed serious concerns over the current monsoon season, and the Deputy Commissioner issued a notification imposing Section 144 in Rawalpindi. As per the notification, a ban is imposed on swimming in nullah and other water-related playing activities. The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi advised citizens to adopt precautionary measures in this regard.
