A severe thunderstorm, accompanied by scattered torrential rains, lashed Lahore and surrounding areas on Sunday, breaking the intense heat and humidity.The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast similar weather conditions over the next 24 hours. While the rain brought much-needed relief from the sweltering temperatures, it caused significant disruption across the city.
Over 200 electricity feeders tripped, plunging many areas into prolonged power outages. Heavy rainfall and strong winds were reported in multiple localities, including Shimla Pahari, Abbot Road, Davis Road, Mall Road, Shadman, Gulberg, Scheme Mor, Mughalpura, Dharmapura, Airport, Yatim Khana, Allama Iqbal Town, Wahdat Road, Mustafa Town, Kahna, Model Town, Johar Town, and Muslim Town.
