Peshawar district administration, in collaboration with officials from the Transport Department, apprehended two managers for overcharging passengers and subsequently sent them to jail. As per the statement issued by the office of the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, notices were served to 21 transporters for their involvement in the practice. Additionally, excess fares collected were promptly refunded to affected passengers. The swift action was prompted by an abrupt surge in fares coinciding with the onset of Eid holidays. In adherence to government directives, strict enforcement of official fare rates will be ensured, with no leniency granted to any party involved.
