Ministries, state-owned corporations spend Rs5.3 billion in July–August 2025

Pakistan’s federal ministries and divisions, as well as state-owned corporations have spent Rs5.3 billion in the first two months (July-Aug) of Fiscal Year 2025-26.

 

 

According to an official document available with Wealth Pakistan, the federal ministries and divisions recorded a total spending of Rs4.65 billion, while the corporations spent Rs657.5 million. The document reveals that among ministries, the Federal Education & Professional Training Division led the spending with Rs1.73 billion, followed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) at Rs1.57 billion. The other notable disbursements include the Housing & Works Division (Rs487.8 million), the Interior Division (Rs311.5 million), and the Defence Division (Rs 128 million).

Smaller but significant outlays were also reported by the Science & Technological Research Division (Rs55.6 million), the Information Technology & Telecom Division (Rs 49.8 million), and the Revenue Division (Rs 35.6 million). On the corporate side, the Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO) was the only major spender, utilizing Rs657.5 million in the first two months. The National Highway Authority (NHA), despite large allocations, reported no recorded expenditure during the period.

These expenditures mark the initial rollout of Rs1 trillion PSDP, and the utilization is expected to accelerate in the coming months as project mobilization gains pace across infrastructure, energy, housing, and education sectors.
