Indian authorities headed by New Delhi-installed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha are installing CCTV cameras on a large scale at all tourist and public places across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, especially in the Kashmir valley, to monitor the movement of local population, round the clock.

According to Kashmir Media Service, alongside the heavy deployment of Indian forces and mobile units equipped with advanced weaponry and surveillance systems, massive funds are being spent on installing CCTV cameras across the region.  

The objective is to monitor every movement of the local population and place them under constant surveillance, a move that violates the personal privacy and daily life of common people in the occupied territory. Among the places where the CCTV cameras are being installed include famous Mughal Gardens, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg in the valley as well.
