Indian forces have intensified their crackdown across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir since May 10, severely disrupting daily life in the territory. According to Kashmir Media Service, frequent raids, arbitrary arrests and heightened surveillance have created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, particularly in towns and villages where people are subjected to routine harassment. In one such incident, Indian forces arrested an individual under the draconian Public Safety Act in Rajouri district, continuing the trend of detaining civilians without due process.
The detainees has been identified as one Mohammad Qasim, who has been rounded up in Gundha area of the district. Indian police claimed that Qasim was involved in pro-freedom and anti India activities. Indian police also booked two other persons identified as Mehboob Akhter and Vishal Sharma under the Public Safety Act in two separate cases in Samba and Udhampur districts.
