Jammu: More than 500 apple laden trucks have been stranded for the past two days in Ramban district due to road blockages along the Srinagar–Jammu highway in Udhampur sector.
According to Kashmir Media Service, on Sunday afternoon, a team from Athrout Kashmir, a Srinagar-based social organization, reached Banihal and, in collaboration with the local volunteer group Banihal Volunteers, distributed ration and essential supplies among the stranded truck drivers stuck in the Sherbibi–Banihal highway sector.
Meanwhile, due to the poor condition of the highway in Udhampur, hundreds of goods-laden trucks remain stranded across Udhampur, Ramban, and Qazigund in Kulgam district from last about three weeks now.
