In a significant push toward Pakistan’s industrial modernization under CPEC 2.0, Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) showcased smart manufacturing solutions and cutting-edge prototypes here at a high-profile summit, highlighting new avenues for digital transformation and industrial growth. Companies including 3DPtek, Shining 3D, PMT, and TPM3D displayed their prototypes and gave live demonstrations, expressing strong interest in exploring opportunities to work in Pakistan.
The international summit, titled “Redefining Digital Manufacturing: Concept to Product”, hosted by Octave Technology Solution (OTS), brought together global and local innovators, industry experts, and policymakers. The event provided a platform for showcasing technologies that can drive zero-defect production, localized manufacturing, and digital transformation in Pakistan’s industrial sector.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, highlighted the importance of aligning Pakistan’s industrial priorities with global technological trends. He stressed the need for indigenous capability-building, workforce upskilling, and supportive policy frameworks to develop a sustainable and smart manufacturing ecosystem.
Other federal ministers, including Rana Tanvir Hussain, Minister for Industries and Production, and Khalid Hussain Magsi, Minister for Science and Technology, outlined the government’s vision to modernize industries through emerging technologies, R&D, and digitization.
They welcomed the participation of Chinese and international manufacturers, calling their demonstrations a timely contribution to Pakistan’s industrial revival under CPEC’s second phase. On the sidelines, OTS signed collaboration agreements with academia, business forums, and international manufacturers to promote localization of advanced digital manufacturing practices in Pakistan.
