A new Government Service Center has been inaugurated in Kaghan, aiming to provide easier and more efficient access to administrative services for local residents and tourists, Gwadar Pro reported on Wednesday. The facility, supported by SK Hydro (Private) Limited, was formally opened on September 5, 2025. Officials said the center will directly benefit around 150,000 people, reducing the distance many previously had to travel by nearly 100 kilometers.
The project is also expected to support Kaghan’s growing tourism sector by improving governance infrastructure and enhancing service delivery. The inauguration was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Mansehra, along with representatives from SK Hydro. Speaking at the event, the DC noted the role of development initiatives linked with the Suki Kinari Hydropower Station in improving local services, citing past contributions such as education support, disaster relief, and infrastructure upgrades.
The new service center comes as the SK Hydropower Project, part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), approaches its first anniversary of commercial operation. Local authorities said the project continues to contribute both through power generation and community-focused initiatives in the surrounding areas.
