The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has opened submissions for a national short video contest to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The competition is being organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Pakistan and invites Pakistani university students to showcase stories highlighting friendship, cultural ties and shared aspirations between the two countries, Gwadar Pro reported.

According to details released by the HEC, the theme of the contest is “China-Pakistan Friendship— Passed on from Generation to Generation.” Suggested topics include “75 Years of China-Pakistan Friendship,” “Chinese Stories Around Me,” and “China-Pakistan Youth Striving Together for a Shared Future.”

The contest is open to currently enrolled undergraduate and master’s students at Pakistani universities. Participants are required to submit short videos with a maximum duration of three minutes. The submission deadline is June 30, 2026, the HEC said. Winners will receive certificates and cash prizes, which will be awarded to first, second and third place entries. Students interested in participating have been advised to contact their respective university’s student affairs office or directorate for registration and submission procedures.

The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to commemorate the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and China, often described by officials as an “all-weather friendship.”
