International climate training concludes at University of Gujratتازترین

A three-day international training workshop on climate-smart development and carbon neutrality concluded at the University of Gujrat, as part of growing efforts to strengthen academic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

The workshop brought together researchers, faculty members and students to discuss climate change, carbon neutrality strategies and sustainable development practices.

According to a Gwadar Pro's report, the sessions led by Dr Li Wei, Associate Professor at the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University, focused on global climate frameworks and carbon management.

Dr Li also discussed the carbon credit market and expressed willingness to support further training for Pakistani researchers, particularly at the PhD level.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zahoor ul Haq thanked Dr Li for visiting Pakistan and sharing his expertise with University of Gujrat faculty and students.

He noted the participation of faculty members and students from botany, biochemistry, chemistry, environmental sciences, zoology and mathematics, and encouraged faculty members to develop expertise in emerging areas such as carbon credits.
