Punjab Police conducted 242 search operations across the province,including Lahore during the last 24 hours in view of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.According to the Punjab Police spokesperson,a total of 7,370 individuals were questioned during these operations, while 12 criminals were taken into custody. He said that during the ongoing operations,police also recovered illegal weapons from criminal and suspicious elements,including 34 rifles,375 pistols and 58 guns. 

The spokesperson added that since the start of the current year,Punjab Police had carried out 16,440 search operations across the province,during which more than 688,000 individuals were interrogated and 1,951 criminals were arrested. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem directed that search operations should be continued to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable and to ensure a peaceful environment during Ramadan.
